Simone Busija - Director and Founder

 

Simone Busija founded Family Ties Foundation in 2016 after a history of genetic cancer in her family.  Passionate about helping those who have been touched by cancer, Simone is involved with numerous charities including Peter MacCallum Cancer Foundation and No Stomach For Cancer.

Prior to this, Simone worked in the corporate sector with a 15 year career employed by Sensis Pty Ltd.  Simone had various roles including Sales Manager, Media account manager and sales coach, assisting businesses with their advertising needs.

Danny Busija - Director

Danny Busija commenced his professional career as an auditor and accountant. Danny then moved to recruitment and has held Consulting and Management roles within some of the leading executive search firms in Australia, including a Senior Management position with a Multinational Recruitment Firm. His last role was Group General Manager of a specialist recruitment company before Co founding Selection Partners on 2011.

Danny has been involved in several Not For Profit Boards, but finds the Family Ties Foundation especially important due to his wifes' family history with hereditary cancer.  Witnessing first had the lack of awareness and information available, he is passionate  to be involved in seeing the foundation achieve its goal.

 

Andrew Ellem - Director

Andrew Ellem is a Chartered Accountant.  He commenced his career in 1990.  His is a Nominee Partner of M V Anderson & Co Chartered Accountants along with a director of a number of companies that hold Limited Australian Financial Services Licences. And Australian Credit Licence.

Andrew specialises in advising Small Medium Family Enterprises for Accumulation of Assets, Asset Protection and Succession Planning.  He does this by ensuring they are structure in the most flexible manner firstly to protect the assets SME owners accumulate through their business lives and secondly that they are structured to hand over the enterprise to the next generation along with protecting these accumulated assets from business and life creditors.

Family Ties Foundation is guided by Andrew for their compliance and ongoing financial management, his role is pro bono and voluntary.
